No 8 Ventures is delighted to announce that today Rex Bionics launched its revolutionary robotic exoskeleton, Rex.
Rex enables a person currently using a wheelchair to stand and walk, including going up and down stairs. Rex is not a replacement for a wheelchair but a complement that provides the opportunity to move about fully upright and to enjoy the multiple benefits this can bring.
Rex is potentially suitable for anyone who can self-transfer from their wheelchair and can operate the hand controls. This can enable people to stand up and move around to do all kinds of things, such as:
• Stand up to cook dinner at home, or in a friend's house
• Enjoy the health benefits of being upright and moving around
• Stand and work at a workbench safely, rather than getting a face full of debris
• Socialise with friends around the barbecue
• Play a few games of pool or foosball with friends
• Reach things on the high shelves at home, in the supermarket, or at work
• Stand up in family photos like graduations and wedding shots
No 8 Ventures is proud to have been the foundation investor in Rex Bionics. Jenny Morel the Managing Partner of No 8 Ventures is Chairman and current CEO of Rex Bionics.
